Budget boob-shaped pillows
These are smaller, less expensive and made of lower quality materials. Yes, they’re also attractive to look at but don’t expect any real comfort. They’re purchased more as a gag gift. You’ll find these mostly on Amazon.
Pillows with boobs on them
These pillows are shaped like regular square or rectangular throw pillows. Instead of being boob-shaped they include boob drawings on the cover. This one is a good example.
Breastfeeding pillows
Breastfeeding pillows that support boobs: this gets into a different type of pillow altogether. These pillows are meant to be worn around the waist, just below the boobs. The baby lays on the pillow and makes it more comfortable for the woman to breastfeed at the boob. Here is a good example.
Massage pillows
Massage pillows that support boobs: these pillows also support boobs but in a different way. They go around the boobs and keep them from being pressed down too hard against a massage table when the woman is laying face down.
Sleeping pillows that fit between boobs

Boobie pillow vs. breast support pillow: which one do you want?
Here's the mix-up that sends people to the wrong cart. A breast support pillow (also called a cleavage or side-sleep wedge) sits between your breasts while you sleep on your side. Its job is to stop them from squishing together overnight. A boobie pillow is the opposite: the pillow is the boobs. You hug it, rest your head on it, or give it a squeeze after a long day.

Size. Lap-sized is the sweet spot: big enough to hug and rest your head on, and easy to tuck under an arm.

Why the best boob pillows use memory foam
Not all boobie pillows are stuffed the same. Cheap novelty cushions use polyester fill, which squashes flat and stays flat. Memory foam behaves differently, and it has a surprisingly cool backstory.
Memory foam started as a NASA project. In 1966, NASA contracted engineer Charles Yost to improve crash protection and comfort in airplane seats. He created an open-cell "slow spring back" foam that molds to the body pressing on it and returns to its original shape once the pressure is removed. Why hugging a boob pillow feels so good
There's real research on why huggable comfort helps. A 2015 Psychological Science study found that hugs and social support helped buffer the stress-related increase in infection risk, and hugged people who did get sick had milder symptoms (Cohen et al., 2015). A 2005 Biological Psychology study linked more frequent partner hugs with higher oxytocin and lower blood pressure and heart rate in premenopausal women (Light et al., 2005).
